Karnataka Deputy Chief
Minister said in New Delhi that he did not discuss the alleged power tussle
with the party High Command. He said that only political matters regarding the
upcoming Assam polls were discussed.
“We came here to
discuss political things, not just to breathe air," he said, adding that
he didn’t need to disclose what he discussed with party leaders. Shivakumar metparty leaders Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi-Vadra and AICC President
Mallikarjun Kharge on Thursday.
“The party has a
vision. All our senior leaders will take the call whenever they find it
suitable in favour of Karnataka," Shivakumar said in New Delhi.
With the Chief
Minister Siddaramaiah-led government set to complete 1,000 days in office on
Friday, Shivakumar added that "patience will also pay".
The Siddaramaiah
government is set to complete 1,000 days in office on Friday. But Shivakumar declined to comment on whether he would become Chief Minster before the party
completes 2,000 days in office, saying that there was no power tussle with
Siddaramaiah.
Expelled BJP MLA MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal said that the Congress government would collapse if DK Shivakumar became the Chief Minister. “If Siddaramaiah is there, the government will last for five years. If Siddaramaiah is removed, DK Shivakumar's government will not last.” Yatnal added that Shivakumar was also considering forming an alliance with the BJP.
